Install the direct download

  1. Download the ZIP for your browser and unzip it into a permanent folder.
  2. In Chrome open chrome://extensions, or in Edge open edge://extensions. Turn on Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder containing manifest.json. Keep this folder in place.
  4. Open the X-notes extension, read the data-use disclosure and choose Agree and connect X-notes. Sign in through X.
  5. Visit X. Click the notebook at the bottom left to write a page note, or Add note on a post. Saved notes sync with your web notebook.

An unpacked extension does not update automatically. Download a new version here, replace its files, and choose Reload in your browser's extension manager.
